Are you a qualified or about-to-qualify Occupational Therapist looking for a supportive place to begin or grow your career? Or a Band 5 OT ready for a new challenge? This is an excellent opportunity for an OT with an interest in older adult rehabilitation to join a high-quality ward therapy team, supporting patients to regain independence and return home safely. Based mainly at St Mark's Hospital, Maidenhead, with some cross-cover at Upton Hospital, Slough, you'll join a close-knit inpatient team of OTs, physios and therapy assistants. You'll manage a varied caseload of adults with complex needs and gain valuable experience in a dynamic MDT where learning and development are actively supported. Day to day, you'll be:
Responsibilities
* Assessing patients and creating personalised rehab plans
* Supporting or running groups such as falls prevention and exercise
* Working closely with patients, families and the wider MDT
* Supporting therapy assistants and supervising students
* Joining ward rounds, case conferences and discharge planning
* Providing supervision guidance to band 3 and 4 support workers in the therapy team. To make recommendations to the wider MDT and to support with education of students.
* Identifying service developments, needs, contributing to the planning, development and evaluation of the service and having responsibility for defined projects.
* Being responsible for a complex caseload using an interdisciplinary, patient focused rehabilitative approach with support from the senior therapists.

The post will be part of a Multi‑Disciplinary Team within an inpatient setting which will offer assessment and treatment for patients in the east of Berkshire.
