Overview
Senior Clinical Psychologist (Development Post) – BCUHB Older Adult Clinical Psychology Service is seeking a suitably qualified and experienced clinician to join as part of a fully supported development post, based in Flintshire (Wepre House, Connah's Quay). The post is for a band 8a Clinical Psychologist, or band 7 Clinical Psychologist with a pathway to band 8a on demonstrating required competencies.
This is a very exciting opportunity to join a well-established department with strong clinical and research links with the School of Psychology and the Doctorate in Clinical Psychology (DClinPsy) Department at the University of Wales, Bangor. The team is friendly and supportive, with ongoing peer supervision and opportunities for training and progression. The post holder will benefit from cross-specialty BCUHB links across North Wales and opportunities for research and clinical networking across North Wales and All Wales. The North Wales countryside offers an excellent quality of life with access to outdoor activities and easy links to Chester, Liverpool and Manchester.
Main duties
This is a permanent 8a or band 7 development post. The post holder will provide specialist clinical input and support to both the Memory Assessment Service MDT and the Older People’s Community Mental Health Team (OPMH CMHT). For band 7, there is a progression pathway to band 8a once competencies for 8a are demonstrated. The role involves delivering tailored individual and group psychological therapies to an Older Adult population, undertaking specialist neuropsychological assessment and formulation, and providing pre- and post-diagnostic support and intervention. The post also includes training, supervision, and formulation work, and requires integration with MDT colleagues through specialist psychological knowledge, consultation, and attendance at MDT meetings, team referral meetings and service-wide meetings. Enthusiasm and commitment are essential.

Qualifications
* Honours Degree in Psychology
* Eligibility for Graduate membership of the British Psychological Society
* Post-graduate Doctoral qualification in Clinical Psychology (or equivalent) as accredited by the British Psychological Society
* Registered with the Health and Care Professions Council
Desirable criteria
* Pre-qualification training and qualifications in research methodology, staff training and/or other fields of applied psychology
Experience
* Essential criteria: Assessed experience of working as a qualified clinical psychologist, normally including significant post-qualification experience within the designated specialty, or relevant transferable skills
* Demonstration of further specialist training/experience through extensive clinical supervision
Desirable criteria
* Experience of teaching, training and/or supervision
