is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented
Cost Management Accountant
with expertise in
standard costing
to join our growing finance team. This is a fantastic opportunity to play a key role in shaping cost visibility and financial performance across our food manufacturing operations.
About the Role
Reporting to the
Group Finance Director
, you'll work closely with on-site finance, commercial, operations, and production teams to:
* Develop and maintain
standard costing systems
.
* Analyse cost variances and identify opportunities for improvement.
* Ensure accurate
SKU-level costing
to support margin analysis and decision-making.
* Support
stock valuation
and ensure alignment with costing models.
Key Responsibilities
* Build and maintain robust
standard cost accounting systems
.
* Determine and periodically review standard costs for all products.
* Analyse actual vs. standard costs and investigate variances.
* Collaborate with production teams to ensure cost efficiency.
* Support the development of cost accounting policies and procedures.
* Ensure accurate stock valuation and integration with costing models.
* Prepare and present cost reports to senior management.
* Identify cost-saving opportunities and support process improvements.
What We're Looking For:
Essential:
* Degree in
Accounting, Finance
, or related field.
* ACA, ACCA, or CIMA
qualified (or part-qualified with relevant experience).
* 3–5 years' experience in
management accounting
, ideally in
FMCG or food manufacturing
.
* Strong background in
cost accounting
, product costing, and variance analysis.
* Proficiency in
Excel
(pivot tables, lookups, macros).
* Experience with ERP systems (e.g.,
Sage, Access, SAP
).
* Strong communication skills to liaise with non-finance teams.
* Excellent time management and organisational skills.
Desirable:
* Experience in
food manufacturing
or
supply chain finance
.
* Knowledge of
sustainability cost tracking
or waste reduction.
* Familiarity with
Power BI
or other reporting tools.
