Overview
Advanced Pharmacist - Medical Specialities. Our Pharmacy team is seeking an experienced Clinical Pharmacist with well-developed interpersonal skills and an interest in specialising within specialist clinical CBUs to deliver key pharmacy services to the Medicine Division across all sites at North West Anglia NHS Foundation Trust, including Peterborough City Hospital and Hinchingbrooke Hospital in Huntingdon. You will work cross-site across the Trust footprint and be a valued member of a friendly and supportive team assisting the Principal Pharmacist Medicine Division in the delivery of corporate, divisional and departmental priorities, as well as contributing to the modernisation of pharmacy services across the Trust.
Responsibilities
* Develop and deliver prescribing activities in a specialist CBU clinic to ensure the accuracy, legality, safety and efficacy of medicine use through appropriate planning and allocation of work.
* Support consultant and MDT ward rounds to provide evidence-based advice on medications for safe and effective use.
* Develop and review policies, procedures and guidelines for medicine use within the designated CBU(s)/Speciality area.
* Assist with pharmacy business planning and implementation of electronic clinical systems to support cost-effective, patient-focused service provision.
* Develop and deliver comprehensive training and education on medicine issues to pharmacy staff and the wider MDT; provide clinical and service information to the pharmacy senior management team to support service development and strategic planning.
Qualifications
* Essential: Degree or Masters level in Pharmacy; Registered Pharmacist (GPhC); Postgraduate qualification relevant to hospital pharmacy practice.
* Desirable: Leadership/Management qualification relevant to the NHS or equivalent; Registered Pharmacy non-medical prescriber; Credentialed for RPS Core Advanced Pharmacist Curriculum; Significant experience in specialty pharmacy practice; Experience in delivering clinical education and training; Experience of leading change management; Computer literacy (Microsoft Office & pharmacy applications); Knowledge of clinical audit/Drug Use Review projects; Up-to-date evidence of work towards HEE or RPS advanced practice.
