The stunning Fable Terrace Downs Resort, boasting a championship style golf course, is looking for a hands-on, experienced Head Housekeeper to lead our Housekeeping Team!
Reporting to the Resort Manager, you will oversee the leadership and management of the Housekeeping team, ensuring the effective operation of the department on a daily basis. As the leader of this key operational department you will communicate with your team and other departments, implementing effective procedures to ensure all guests’ expectations are met and brand standards maintained. You must have the ability to balance guest expectations, employee leadership and maintain profitability.
You have excellent communication and organisational skills with the ability to motivate a great team.This role requires a balance of supervision and hands-on assistance with strong attention to detail.
Due to the remote location of the Resort, you will need to have your own transportation.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage and be involved daily in the upkeep and presentation of the Resort Villas
Manage payroll and expenses with budgeted parameters
Set, implement and review service standards in line with Fable brand guidelines
Monitor guest feedback by addressing guest service issues and complaints
Liaise with maintenance to ensure the asset is maintained and any safety hazards in Front and Back of House areas of the property are addressed
Recruitment/Selection and Induction of Team Members
Training, Development and Mentoring of staff
Motivate and Coordinate the Housekeeping Team to achieve department objectives
Maintaining a good working relationship with all departments
Skills and Requirements:
Minimum 5 years’ hospitality experience, including at least 2 years' experience in Housekeeping Management
Knowledge of KPI and Budget
Experience in rostering and budget controlling
First Aid certificate
Proven leadership experience, the ability to lead by example and be hands on when business demands.
Flexibility to work rostered shifts
Hold NZ citizenship, permanent residency or a current valid work visa
NZ Driver's License
