Overview

Join to apply for the Line Leader role at G's Group. We are looking for an experienced and motivated Line Leader to take responsibility for leading a production line and team to achieve safety, quality, and efficiency targets. You will prepare and run production, support operatives, and ensure performance targets are consistently met. This role is perfect for a proactive individual with strong leadership skills and a passion for continuous improvement in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.


What You Will Do


Production & Efficiency

* Prepare the line for production, ensuring equipment, raw materials, and paperwork are ready for shift start.
* Oversee machine operation, cleanliness, and pre-start checks.
* Ensure production runs smoothly, minimising downtime and waste.
* Verify product specifications, programmes, films, and date codes are correct before and during each run.


Quality & Compliance

* Ensure all products meet quality, safety, and legality standards.
* Carry out in-process checks and take corrective action when required.
* Guarantee machines are cleaned to the correct standard before and between product changeovers.


Team Leadership & Supervision

* Lead and motivate production operatives to achieve targets safely and efficiently.
* Manage attendance, address issues promptly, and maintain strong team communication.
* Conduct daily “Top 5” meetings to brief the team on performance, priorities, and continuous improvement.
* Encourage teamwork, learning, and mutual respect across the shift.


Hygiene & Safety

* Maintain a clean, safe working environment in line with hygiene and health & safety standards.
* Ensure 5S standards are maintained and promote a “right first time” culture.
* Support and enforce company policies, risk assessments, and safe working procedures.


Performance & Continuous Improvement

* Communicate KPI performance clearly to the team and implement actions to improve results.
* Identify and eliminate waste, ensuring efficient use of time, labour, and materials.
* Contribute to lean and improvement activities within your area.
* Support training and development of your team to build skills and capability.


Stock Control & Materials

* Ensure raw materials and finished products are stored safely and efficiently.
* Rotate stock correctly to minimise waste and maintain product integrity.
* Report and communicate any raw material or supply issues quickly and accurately.


Team Engagement & Development

* Encourage open communication and involvement from all team members.
* Support recruitment, onboarding, and ongoing development within your area.
* Foster a respectful and supportive environment where people can grow and contribute.


What You Will Bring

* Previous experience in a Line Leader or Team Leader role within food manufacturing or a similar production environment.
* Strong understanding of production processes, hygiene, and safety standards.
* Excellent communication and organisational skills.
* Ability to lead, motivate, and develop a team.
* Commitment to continuous improvement and achieving high standards.
* Confidence in monitoring performance, solving problems, and making sound decisions under pressure.
* Positive attitude and a hands-on approach to leadership.
