Position Title: CAD Mechanical Designer - Elec \n\nDuration: Contract \n\nLocation: Hybrid Working - 3 Days on site in Milton Keynes \n\n(Outside IR35)\n\n*Applicants MUST have proof of immediate, on-going and valid eligibility to work full time in the UK and travel within the EU.*\n\nEssential Criteria:\n\nThe role encapsulates the end-to-end design of the integration of electrical systems with regards to all Mechanical packaging\nEnclosures, brackets, housings, trucking\nThermal mechanical - Cooling calcs, sizing of ducts heatsinks etc\nBatteries, cold plates, busbars, PCB mounting, Composite HV pack enclosures\nAV Mounting - Calculate and size bushings, define and manage testing and validation, development of tools and process\nSystems Engineering - Capturing and understanding the requirements, blue sky thinking, problem solving, electrical architecture, componentry selection, layout, and feasibility.\nDetail design - 3D CAD - Concept schemes, packaging\n2D manufacturing - Drawings, build lists, BOM, supplier selection, costings, planning capture.\nSupport - Physically validate the system, parts they have designed, support build, snag correction, fault investigation, easements, cost-downs, reworks instructions, reporting.\nCAD, 2D & 3D drawing data and design (UG NX)\nEngineering system support\nProject Product Data\nLiaise with engineering in the control and generation of CAD UG NX data and drawings.\nDevelop personal systems for optimum performance and efficiency.\nTo maintain all facets of CAD drawing generation to best practice.\nExtensive NX and Teamcenter experience\nComposites design experience\nComposite enclosure methodologies\nTooling and Mould design\nExcellent problem-solving and analytical skills\nKnowledge of automotive industry standards and regulations\nStrong communication & documentation skills \n\nNice to Have Criteria:\n\nTo have a clear understanding of CAD and UG NX systems at customer site.\nTo maintain and control all CAD records and data in the support of project related work.\nMaintain drawing controls to TS(phone number removed) standard and advise best practice.\nCo-ordinate drawing changes and requirements for customer\nDesign and model components, system installations to customer satisfaction.\nManage, document and control time, workload.\nTo ensure customer confidentiality at all times.\nTo work at customer location in the support of 2D, 3D product data generation as and when required.\nTo have a clear understanding of automotive electrical distribution systems, drawings and awareness of best in class systems that are available.\nControl, record and implement engineering changes to harness drawings.\nProduce bill of materials and listings in support of other departments. \n\nAdditional Information:\n\n1-3 yrs min experience in Mechanical design relating to Electrical systems, mounting and bracketry\nBreak Out Box "BOB" design experience\nFolded Metalwork & Bracketry\nComposite manufacturing drawing experience\nMotorsport industry design experience\nElectrical/Electronic packaging experience\nRapid prototyping design experienceWhy work through Contechs?\n\nContechs is a leading Automotive, Design, Engineering, Technology and Innovation Recruitment Consultancy.
