Finance Director Artemis Executive Search has been successfully retained by a high-growth, private equity-backed business with operations spanning Northern Ireland, as they seek to appoint an experienced Finance Director to play a pivotal role in the next phase of their growth journey. This is a senior leadership role, reporting to the Managing Director and Board, with full responsibility for the finance function and a clear mandate to strengthen reporting, governance and decision support within a fast-scaling, investor-backed environment. The Finance Director will play a central role in driving financial strategy, supporting significant capital investment and leading an active acquisition programme over the coming years. Key responsibilities will include: Leading the companys end-to-end finance and reporting processes, ensuring accuracy, control and timeliness. Full ownership of cash flow management, treasury and liquidity planning, including downside, covenant and scenario modelling. Leading a large-scale, multi-year capital investment programme, overseeing a significant CAPEX spend over a three-year period, from investment appraisal and funding strategy through to delivery, monitoring and post-investment review. Leading the financial execution of a multi-acquisition strategy over the next four years, including acquisition modelling, valuation, due diligence, deal execution and post-acquisition integration. Playing a central role in the approval, governance and ongoing evaluation of all material capital investment and acquisition activity, ensuring returns are delivered in line with the investment case. Developing and implementing financial strategies that support the wider growth and private equity value-creation agenda. Further developing the companys Business Intelligence and analytics capability, extracting meaningful insights to drive efficiency, performance improvement and commercial opportunity. Ownership of the annual budgeting process, rolling forecasts, monthly management accounts and statutory financial statements. Communicating financial performance against budget, CAPEX and M&A plans to senior management, the Board and PE stakeholders. Continuing to build, mentor and develop the finance team, creating a scalable, high-performing finance function. Responsibility for insurance, risk management and internal controls, working with external advisers as required. Oversight of all taxation governance and compliance, including corporation tax, VAT and related obligations. Planning and leading the annual audit process, acting as the primary point of contact for external auditors. The Person We are seeking a commercially minded finance leader with strong experience in PE-backed or investor-led environments. You will bring: A professional accountancy qualification (ACA, ACCA or CIMA). Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate data into actionable insight. Proven experience operating as a Finance Director/CFO within a business with turnover in excess of £30m. Demonstrable experience planning, evaluating and managing large capital investment projects. Prior experience reporting to an external board, ideally within a private equity or infrastructure-backed business. Strong proficiency in financial systems, BI tools and reporting platforms. Excellent people leadership and stakeholder management skills, with a track record of building and developing high-performing teams.
