Introduction
Our client is supporting a Nuclear client with the design and build projects and are looking for a Project Manager who has experience working within a Construction/Equipment/Built environment to join their team!
You will be leading and supporting NEC projects from conception through to delivery, so experience within these types of projects is essential.
Working Patterns: This is a hybrid role with 3 days per week on nuclear site.
Key responsibilities
* Delivering projects within an engineering environment, specifically plant, equipment, construction or built environment for Nuclear/Defence clients.
* Managing output through gated design stages from a ‘contractor’ perspective.
* Ensuring delivery meets time, cost and quality outcomes.
* Taking responsibility for financial budgeting, planning, and reporting.
* Generating management information and reporting back to internal and external stakeholders.
* Engaging and communicating with client and project stakeholders, to manage escalated issues and develop strong relationships.
* Delivery of project management and NEC contract administration through the project life cycle.
* Ensuring requirements and scope, programme, costs, constraints, risk and interfaces are understood across the team.
* Leading projects teams as required (building, motivating, maintaining, coaching, guiding, and developing the team.)
* Ensuring projects meet quality and nuclear standards.
Skills & experience
* Experience within a Nuclear/Defence client, supporting build/construction/design projects in excess of £1 million.
* An understanding of NEC 3 or NEC 4 contracts of similar (JCT etc.)
* Understanding of contracts, especially NEC 3 or NEC 4, and able to manage internal and external change effectively).
* Able to support negotiations and work with external and internal stakeholders.
* Knowledge and experience of implementing and operating Project Governance, Controls and Reporting processes related to Planning, Risks/Issues, Finance and Change Management.
* Understanding of Nuclear Standards is desirable
* Experience of working closely with multi-disciplinary design teams.
* Understanding of BIM.
