Airworthiness Engineer - Agile Aircraft Location: Teesside Job Type: Permanent Salary: From £50,000 competitive benefits About the Opportunity Our client is a leading aviation organisation delivering specialist airborne services across the UK and internationally. With a strong focus on operational excellence and safety, they support complex aviation missions through advanced aircraft platforms and highly skilled personnel. They are now seeking an experienced Airworthiness Engineer - Agile Aircraft to join their Continuing Airworthiness Management Organisation (CAMO). This is a key role responsible for ensuring the continued airworthiness of a diverse and dynamic fleet, operating within a highly regulated environment. The Role Reporting to the Airworthiness & Technical Support Lead, you will take ownership of continuing airworthiness activities for the agile aircraft fleet, ensuring full compliance with all relevant aviation regulations and standards. You will act as a technical authority, supporting both operational and strategic objectives while maintaining the highest levels of safety, compliance, and efficiency. Key Responsibilities Manage all continuing airworthiness activities in accordance with applicable regulations (including EASA, UK CAA, UK MAA and others as required) Ensure aircraft are maintained in an airworthy condition, with all required documentation valid and up to date (e.g. CofA, ARC, PtF, etc.) Lead Aircraft Maintenance Programme (AMP) management, including maintenance planning, variations, and defect rectification Oversee compliance with Airworthiness Directives, Service Bulletins and other regulatory requirements Manage deferred defects, concessions, and liaise with OEMs/DOAs Oversee modifications, technical records, MEL, mass & balance, and maintenance check flights Support reliability monitoring, trend analysis, and obsolescence management Contribute to Safety Management System (SMS) reporting and investigations Support audit processes, root cause analysis, and corrective actions Act as a key point of contact for technical and airworthiness matters Experience & Qualifications Extensive experience in Continuing Airworthiness Management within commercial and/or military aviation Strong working knowledge of EASA, UK CAA, UK MAA (and ideally FAA) regulations Experience managing airworthiness within an agile or ex-military aircraft environment (desirable) Knowledge of Safety Management Systems (SMS) (essential) Familiarity with ISO standards (9001, 14001, 45001, 27001) (desirable) One of the following: Part 66 Aircraft Maintenance Licence (or equivalent), or Aerospace/Aeronautical Engineering degree, or Relevant apprenticeship/qualifications with significant industry experience Eligibility to obtain SC-level security clearance Personal Attributes Strong leadership and mentoring capability Confident communicator across all levels Highly organised with the ability to manage competing priorities Resilient, proactive, and solution-focused High level of integrity and professionalism Additional Information On-call responsibilities (24/7 rota) Occasional out-of-hours work may be required UK and international travel involved Opportunity to deputise for senior leadership Benefits Competitive salary Generous pension contribution (up to 12% matched) Bonus scheme Private medical options Electric vehicle scheme Wellbeing initiatives and additional perks Diversity & Inclusion Our client is committed to building an inclusive and diverse workforce and welcomes applications from all qualified individuals.
