Job title: Maintenance Operative
Reports to: Facilities Manager
Hours: Full-Time (8.00am-5.00pm)
Location: Bristol, United Kingdom
Salary: £28,000
Key Responsibilities:
1. Perform general maintenance duties across the depot network, including building upkeep and outdoor area maintenance (e.g., hedge trimming, weeding). Occasional overnight stays may be required.
2. Ensure workshop areas are well organised by managing the storage of hire fleet and sales equipment.
3. Assist in the movement and loading of equipment, working closely with yard staff and coordinating with internal/external transport teams.
4. Maintain cleanliness and safety across workshop and yard environments.
5. Support cross-departmental tasks and projects, such as equipment labelling and addressing environmental matters on customer sites.
6. Adhere to health, safety, and environmental standards, ensuring vehicles and workspaces remain clean and compliant.
7. Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives in line with the company’s accredited management systems (ISO 9001, 14001, and 45001).
Essential Skills & Experience:
8. Proven general maintenance capabilities
9. Full UK driving licence
10. Excellent communication skills with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team
11. Ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines under minimal supervision
Desirable Qualifications:
12. CSCS/CPCS/ECS card
13. Forklift Licence
14. MEWP Licence
15. Slinger/Signaller (Banksman) qualification
