Cyber Security Analyst – Local Government – Contract
£400 per day | Inside IR35 | Hybrid (2 days on-site in North London) | Rolling 3-month contract
Salt is partnered with a forward-thinking local government body in North London seeking a Cyber Security Analyst to support their internal IT and security teams on a key programme of work. This is a hybrid contract role, with two days per week on-site and the remainder remote.
You’ll play a central role in monitoring, analysing, and improving the organisation’s cyber security posture – particularly around SIEM and incident response, with a strong focus on Microsoft Sentinel.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Monitor security alerts and log data using Microsoft Sentinel and related SIEM tools
2. Respond to security incidents, performing root cause analysis and recommending remediations
3. Conduct vulnerability assessments and support threat detection activities
4. Assist with the configuration and optimisation of the organisation’s security infrastructure
5. Collaborate with technical teams to ensure best practices in information security are maintained
Essential Experience:
6. Proven experience in a cyber security analyst or SOC analyst role
7. Strong hands-on knowledge of Microsoft Sentinel and broader SIEM technologies
8. Solid understanding of threat detection, log analysis, and incident response workflows
9. Experience working in a public sector or regulated environment is highly desirable
10. Ability to clearly communicate security issues and provide actionable advice to stakeholders

Contract length: 3 months initially, with extensions expected
Rate: £400/day (Inside IR35)
Location: North London – 2 days per week on-site, rest remote
