Sonographer Paediatric (Bank)

We have an opportunity for a Sonographer to join their team in the Imaging department.
This is a bank role working on an as and when required basis. You will be required to supplement staffing levels during busy periods and provide cover for existing staff in times of annual leave or absence.
Duties of this role include:
* Participate in the efficient and safe operation of the Imaging Department, providing a high-quality ultrasound service to all patients.
* Carry out diagnostic ultrasound scans within your scope of competence, ensuring high technical and quality standards.
* Assist clinical modality leads in planning and maintaining effective workflow within the department.
* Complete and maintain departmental records, including patient charges, in a timely manner.
* Participate in Quality Assurance tests within the Imaging Department.
* Contribute to supervision, training, and peer review within your area of expertise.
* Report equipment malfunctions or faults and undertake necessary actions for safe operation.
* Follow departmental policies, protocols, and SOPs.
* Complete all relevant mandatory training.
Applicants should meet the following criteria:
* A broad range of sonography competencies as per the job description.
* Experience of autonomous practice and independent reporting.
* Experience in customer care and interacting with challenging situations.
* Diploma in medical ultrasound (DMU) or Postgraduate certificate/diploma (Pg Cert/Dip).
* Ability to assess, diagnose, and report ultrasound findings, maintaining accurate patient records.
* Understanding of safe clinical practice and associated responsibilities.
* Knowledge of Health & Safety regulations and ergonomics to prevent RSI.
* Familiarity with IT systems such as RIS / PACS.
* Knowledge of healthcare service systems and processes.
* Awareness of College of Radiographers and HCPC Code of Conduct / Accountability.
