An opportunity has arisen for a Senior Systems Engineer within Thales OME. The role can be based in Reading or Glasgow and may require some travel and time spent at other Thales sites, customer sites, or integration and test facilities.
Responsibilities
 * Definition of Systems Requirements for the product
 * Creation of design documentation capturing the systems engineering design and definition of the internal and external interfaces of the system
 * Functional definition of system behaviour
 * Development of test procedures to support the verification of the system
 * Carrying out integration and verification testing against test procedures and conducting activities to gather evidence that the systems requirements have been achieved
 * Peer reviewing technical artefacts
 * Supporting the wider engineering team by sharing knowledge
Qualifications
 * Working as part of a multi‑disciplinary design team
 * Defining systems interfaces, boundaries and other external factors that would impact on design
 * Requirements Engineering (elicitation, decomposition and analysis)
 * Analysing the operational concepts of a system
Desirable Skills
 * Experience of the decomposition of a system design to sub‑system level; experience or knowledge of systems modelling techniques
 * Experience of analysing potential solutions against the key needs in a design brief
 * Experience of using design analysis techniques (trade‑off analysis, calculations, modelling and simulation, etc.)
The role will report to the Discipline Manager for Systems Engineering.

Security Clearance
This role will require SC Clearance. It would be advantageous if currently held; however, if not, it is a requirement that the successful applicant will undergo, achieve, and maintain SC Clearance. To be eligible for full SC, you generally need to have resided in the UK for the last five years; in some circumstances, a minimum of three years residence in the last five years may be accepted, with additional overseas checks.
