Role Purpose
Scottish Borders Justice Social Work Service are looking to recruit to a full time Caledonian Woman's Worker post, this is to fill a recent retirement. This is a protected characteristic post- so is only open to female candidates.
Within this role you will be expected to provide a high quality, proactive, holistic service with a range of support through evidence-based interventions to women who have experienced domestic abuse specifically, to increase the safety of women and children and whose partner or former partner is attending the Caledonian Men’s Programme
We are a small, friendly and innovative team. You will be provided with regular supervision and team leaders make a point of being available for consultation or support. We promote flexible working, which would include some office and home working, although the majority of this work will take place within the local community of the women you will support.
Essential
SVQ Level 3 in Social Care or equivalent/HND in Social Care; or an equivalent qualification or range of experience in a social work, domestic abuse or criminal justice related field
Evidence of domestic abuse training or other training on wider Violence Against Women issues. Evidence of specialist advocacy training e.g. PDA in Domestic Abuse Advocacy (IDAA qualification) or a willingness to achieve this within 24 months
A current driving licence and use of a vehicle is an essential requirement of this post.
