Sous Chef - Greenmeadow Community Farm
Greenmeadow Community Farm is preparing to open its gates in August 2025, and we're looking for a talented, motivated, and experienced Sous Chef to support the Head Chef in leading our brand-new, multi-outlet catering operation.

You'll play a key role in delivering a diverse and dynamic food operation, including:
A welcoming Farmshop with local produce and artisan goods
A lively Café Restaurant serving seasonal, farm-inspired dishes
A stylish Barista Coffee Bar
A buzzing Playbarn Café
A wide range of Events & Hospitality, including weddings, school visits, and seasonal celebrations
Proven experience as a Sous Chef or Senior Chef de Partie in a high-volume, multi-outlet environment
Strong background in event and wedding catering
A passion for fresh, seasonal, and sustainable food
Financial awareness with experience in stock control and supplier coordination
Able to work 5 out of 7 days, including weekends and evenings
Work in a beautiful, nature-rich setting with a strong community focus

Key Responsibilities - Sous Chef
As Sous Chef, you'll play a vital role in launching and supporting the leadership of a vibrant, multi-outlet kitchen operation at one of the region's most exciting new destinations. Supporting the Head Chef in delivering the culinary vision across the Farmshop, Café Restaurant, Barista Coffee Bar, Playbarn Café, Concessions, and Events & Hospitality spaces
Supervising and mentoring kitchen staff, ensuring high standards of food quality, safety, and hygiene are maintained at all times
Managing daily kitchen operations, including food prep, stock rotation, allergen control, and assisting with supplier coordination
Working closely with front-of-house and events teams to ensure smooth service for school visits, weddings, seasonal events, and private functions
Maintaining consistency and efficiency across a logistically varied site, ensuring timely and high-quality food delivery
Upholding food safety and hygiene standards, including compliance with HACCP procedures
Contributing to menu development, bringing creativity and seasonal inspiration to the table
Driving continuous improvement, offering ideas and feedback to enhance the food offering and kitchen operations
Proven experience as a Sous Chef or Senior Chef de Partie in a high-volume, quality-focused environment
A strong background in wedding and event catering -you know how to deliver under pressure and support seamless execution
A track record of supporting, training, and motivating kitchen teams to maintain consistently high standards
Financial awareness, with experience in food cost control, GP targets, stock management, and supplier coordination
Excellent coaching and delegation skills -you lead by example and support the Head Chef in developing the team
Strong menu execution, planning, and problem-solving abilities
Able to work 5 out of 7 days, including weekends and evenings as required by the operation
