Teacher of Science

Job description

JOB PURPOSE: To teach students in the subject/class agreed upon with Line Manager.

Professional Responsibilities

* Implement and deliver a broad, balanced, relevant, and differentiated curriculum.
* Monitor and support students' progress and development.
* Facilitate a learning environment that encourages students to achieve their potential.
* Contribute to raising standards of attainment.
* Support the academy’s initiatives for personal and academic growth.

Teaching & Learning

* Develop syllabuses, resources, schemes of learning, and teaching strategies.
* Contribute to the Raising Attainment Plan.
* Plan and prepare lessons.
* Participate in curriculum planning and evaluation.
* Develop external links and act as a Form Tutor.
* Promote student well-being and academic progress.
* Assess, record, and report on student progress.

Performance Management

* Engage in professional development and training.
* Participate in the Performance Management Review process.

Knowledge, Skills & Experience

* Prepare and update teaching materials.
* Use diverse teaching methods to stimulate learning.

Academy Policy

* Implement quality procedures and communicate effectively with parents and external agencies.
* Participate in marketing and liaison activities.
* Attend meetings and promote student participation.

Personnel

* Work as part of a team and contribute positively to the school environment.

Student Outcomes

* Maintain accurate records and track student progress.

Resources and Accommodation

* Ensure effective use of resources and report safety concerns.
