Established in 1982, Stirling site is Fonterra’s only manufacturing site in the Otago region. Specialising in Cheese, the site has picked up awards from both in New Zealand and internationally for their Cheddar and Colby. Stirling produces around 10,500 20kgs blocks of cheese everyday.
About the opportunity | Mō tēnei tūranga
In this crucial role you’ll be a key member of our maintenance team responsible for building maintenance services across our site. You will provide support to the production teams and will use your experience to maintain the plant by working closely with all stakeholders.
Some of your key responsibilities will include:
* Completing all associated work information (e.g. failure cause, tasks performed, spares used, time required, etc.)
* Ensuring high-quality completion of all assigned maintenance tasks
* Supporting and maintaining quality assurance systems
* Resolving issues and problems efficiently and effectively
* Actively contributing to site maintenance improvement initiatives and daily operational requirements
The work schedule for this role consists of a rotating cycle: four morning shifts from 6:00 AM to 4:00 PM, then four days off, followed by four afternoon shifts from 12:00 PM to 10:00 PM.
As the World Leaders in Dairy, we view maintenance as an absolutely critical support function allowing us to maintain our world class manufacturing standards and we are looking for our next team member to be motivated with a similar approach.
Whilst a trade’s background in a manufacturing environment is a preferred technical requirement, your key to success in this role will be your passion for a high standard of work and quality teamwork.
Other skills you’ll bring are:
* Experience in building maintenance & services maintenance
* Experience in working in a manufacturing plant (FMCG or Food)
* Proven Maintenance background
* An understanding of electrical processes
* Welding experience is an advantage
* Restricted Electrical Licence will be a bonus but not a requirement.
* Strong computer literacy across various software applications
