Research Associate in Pure Mathematics (Fixed Term) – 2 positions
An exciting opportunity is available for up to two Post Doctoral Research Associates in Pure Mathematics, working in the Department of Pure Mathematics and Mathematical Statistics.
We encourage eligible applicants to also consider applying for the Herchel Smith Fellowship.
Responsibilities
* Develop and conduct an individual program of research, usually associated with one of the departmental research groups.
* Under the guidance of a Faculty mentor, plan and manage own research and administration.
* Deliver lecturing at Masters level, assist with student research projects and deliver small‑group teaching.
* Communicate technical material and build internal and external contacts.
Qualifications
* PhD in Pure Mathematics or a closely related field, awarded within the last three years or soon to be completed.
* Demonstrated track record of internationally outstanding research.
* Strong written and oral communication skills.
Start Date and Duration
Start date: 1 October 2026 (or by agreement with the Head of Department).
Fixed‑term: Funds available for 3 years in the first instance.
