We are currently seeking an experienced and proactive Multi‑Skilled Maintenance Engineer to join our team at S&S Plastics. This role is critical to ensuring our machinery and equipment operate efficiently and reliably to support our production goals.
Responsibilities
* Respond promptly to machine breakdowns and carry out effective repairs.
* Perform routine and preventative maintenance on injection moulding machines and ancillary equipment.
* Support the achievement of the production plan by minimizing downtime and improving equipment reliability.
* Respond to electrical installations and/or mechanical installation work.
* Work collaboratively with production and engineering teams to identify and implement improvements.
* Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and ensure compliance with health and safety standards.
* Communicate with contractors and issue work permits.
* Respond quickly in the event of an emergency, notify appropriate personnel and follow safety protocols.
Qualifications
* Proven experience in a multi‑skilled maintenance engineering role, ideally within a manufacturing or plastics environment.
* Strong mechanical and electrical fault‑finding skills.
* Understand and interpret mechanical and electrical drawings for all machinery.
* Excellent problem‑solving skills and a proactive approach to maintenance.
* Relevant engineering qualifications (e.g., NVQ Level 3, HNC/HND, or equivalent).
