We’re looking for a Head of Procurement Excellence to join us as a member of the Global Procurement Leadership Team and act as a bridge between strategic vision and operational execution – enabling the procurement function to act as a value‑driving partner to the wider business.
To achieve this, the Head of Procurement Excellence will lead the strategic enablement of the Procurement function by driving Procurement Transformation Strategy into action. You’ll lead change initiatives across process optimisation, technology roadmap/execution, data‑driven decision making and Procurement capability building. This is a pivotal role in establishing operational discipline, ensuring compliance, process optimisation, and enhancing the performance and value contribution of Procurement across the Global Twinings Ovaltine organisation.
Key Responsibilities
Strategy & Governance
* Develop and implement the Procurement Excellence roadmap aligned with broader business goals.
* Define, monitor, and report on key procurement KPIs and performance metrics.
* Establish governance frameworks to support process consistency, policy compliance and risk management.
* Develop compelling business cases and secure funding for strategic investments, incorporating ROI analysis, payback period modelling, and clear value justification.
* Performance leadership & oversight of centrally led Procurement initiatives, e.g. programs to enhance Category Management, Value Delivery or Compliance across the Procurement Organisation.
Capability Building
* Develop and deliver training, toolkits and best practices to upskill procurement staff and stakeholders.
* Standardise procurement processes and drive continuous improvement initiatives across sourcing, contracting and purchasing activities.
* Oversee process documentation, automation and internal controls to support efficient procurement operations.
* Support change management activities for new initiatives, systems or policies.
* Indirect coaching of procurement and wider colleagues across the organisation to help develop capabilities that will transform the organization.
* Set clear goals for the team, lead & manage towards outstanding performance.
* Develop team members for future progression.
Technology & Systems Enablement
* Validate digital transformation strategy and create clear multi‑year roadmap that will drive Procurement effectiveness and efficiency.
* Lead adoption and optimisation of procurement technologies (e.g. SAP, Ariba, analytics tools).
* Partner with IT/Biztech and procurement teams to enhance system capabilities, data quality and user experience.
Data and Analytics
* Provide spend analytics and insights to support strategic sourcing, supplier management and cost reduction initiatives.
* Manage dashboards and reporting tools to track performance, compliance and value delivery.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
* Bachelor’s Degree or above in Engineering, Supply Chain, Procurement, Business, Finance, Accounting or applicable field of study required.
* Track record of continued growth and career progression, demonstrating capability in project management and execution of large cross‑functional projects.
* Proven record of building high‑performing teams and developing talent.
* Deep understanding of Procurement processes, strategies and tools.
* Good understanding of Procurement and Supply Chain technology landscape – both today and into the future.
* Able to identify, understand and evaluate multiple solutions for Procurement and translate them into compelling transformation programs (e.g. AI transformation, horizon scanning toolkit).
* Experience establishing and implementing complex sourcing strategies with best‑in‑class Category Management techniques across multiple categories.
* Leads, manages or oversees complex process and cross‑functional projects and initiatives.
* Regularly works under tight deadlines with significant financial impact.
* Wider understanding of business processes: Supply Chain and across enterprise.
* Strong communication and ability to negotiate at high levels required to guide, influence and convince others, in particular Procurement & SC Leadership and functional colleagues (e.g. IT, Finance, Transformation Offices).
* Relentless drive for results.
* Fully native proficiency in English; additional languages advantageous (e.g. Polish, German, Chinese, Thai, French). Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
