We are seeking an experienced Corporate & Commercial Real Estate (CRE) Underwriter to join a growing Credit function based in West London. This is a key role responsible for assessing, structuring, and managing a diverse portfolio of corporate, CRE, buy-to-let (BTL), and personal lending proposals.
The Role
Reporting directly to the Chief Credit Officer, you will play a pivotal role in underwriting and executing lending transactions, while ensuring robust risk management and regulatory compliance.
Key Responsibilities
1. Underwrite Corporate, CRE, personal, and BTL loan applications, ensuring effective execution of transactions
2. Assess and process lending proposals from the business team, including presenting cases to the Credit/Sanctioning Committee
3. Manage end-to-end credit processes, including liaising with clients, introducers, solicitors, and valuation firms
4. Conduct annual reviews of the existing credit portfolio, ensuring compliance with covenants and lending terms
5. Monitor loan portfolios, identifying early warning signs, arrears, or potential problem accounts, and make recommendations
