HGV / Military Vehicle Assembler
An established engineering organisation with over a century of technical heritage is seeking to strengthen its team of Military Vehicle Assemblers. The business is recognised globally for delivering high‑integrity defence equipment and rapidly deployable military systems, supported by a skilled workforce operating from a modern Engineering Centre of Excellence in the North West.
About the Role
You will play a key part in the assembly of specialist military and heavy vehicles, contributing directly to the manufacture of equipment used by defence customers worldwide. Working within a disciplined, safety‑critical environment, you will follow structured build processes and engineering documentation to deliver high‑quality, reliable products.
Key Skills & Attributes
We are looking for individuals who can demonstrate:
* Ability to follow detailed work instructions and safety protocols
* Confidence working with minimal supervision
* Competence in reading and interpreting engineering drawings
* Qualified HGV Mechanic/Fitter or similar background, ideally with experience assembling complex vehicles (HGVs, plant, rail, aerospace, automotive, etc.)
* A flexible, proactive approach with the ability to work to deadlines
* Professionalism, discipline, and a methodical working style
* A positive attitude toward problem‑solving and continuous improvement
* Willingness to work reasonable overtime or alternative shifts when required
What We’re Looking For
Ideally, you will bring:
* GCSE English & Maths (Grade C/4 or above)
* A recognised apprenticeship in Vehicle Maintenance or a relevant engineering discipline
* Previous experience in a manufacturing or assembly environment
* Experience with military vehicles or defence equipment (preferred but not essential)
