Group - The purpose of this role is to help to manage Global M&A activity and provide support on acquisitions, divestments, and other M&A activity.
Job Description:
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Market & Target Research
2. Conduct comprehensive industry and market analysis to identify trends, competitive dynamics, and strategic opportunities.
3. Evaluate potential acquisition and divestment targets through qualitative and quantitative assessments.
4. Support portfolio optimisation by identifying underperforming assets or non-core business units for potential divestiture.
5. Maintain and update target watchlists and market intelligence databases to support proactive deal sourcing.
6. Financial Modelling & Valuation
7. Build and maintain robust financial models to assess the impact of potential transactions, including discounted cash flow (DCF), comparable company analysis, and precedent transaction methodologies.
8. Perform scenario and sensitivity analyses to evaluate risks and upside potential under various strategic assumptions.
9. Collaborate with relevant internal teams and advisors as required to validate assumptions and ensure model accuracy.
10. Transaction Execution Support
11. Assist in all phases of the transaction lifecycle over a range of transaction types (acquisitions, divestments, partnerships) from initial evaluation through to closing and integration.
12. Coordinate and manage data collection efforts across internal teams and external advisors.
13. Support due diligence workstreams, including financial, operational, legal, tax, and commercial reviews.
14. Manage Q&A processes, track deliverables, and ensure timely responses to stakeholder queries.
15. Help prepare and maintain transaction documentation, including NDAs, term sheets, and deal trackers.
16. Support on post-closing matters such as earnout reviews or separation management.
17. Reporting & Stakeholder Communication
18. Develop high-quality presentations and reports for internal and external stakeholders, including deal pipeline updates, investment committee materials, and board-level briefings.
19. Track and report on deal performance metrics, integration progress, and strategic alignment.
20. Ensure consistency and clarity in communication across all M&A activities, tailoring outputs to different audiences (executive leadership, business units, external advisors).
EXPERIENCE/KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED:
* Relevant accounting or banking certifications preferred
* 2 + years of Accounting or Finance experience including at least 1 year at a Big 4 Accounting firm, investment bank or similar institution preferably working in the media and technology sectors. Mergers and Acquisition experience a plus
* Experience working in the media sector or professional services company a plus
* Strong analytical skills and experience working with financial models
* Proven ability to interact with people at all levels of an organization, fostering strong cross-functional teamwork and results
* Strategic thinking ability with balanced analytical and creative approach
* High-level proficiency in MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Outlook
