Work Pattern: Mixture of early, late, and weekend shifts to cover business operational hours.
Here at Oxford Leisure Trust, our goal is to get more people, more active, more often. We provide affordable access to a wide range of sports and leisure facilities to support healthier and happier people across all segments of the local community. To deliver those services, we need an enthusiastic and customer-focused team. We are currently recruiting Trainee Lifeguards to join our course, which begins on the //. Please note this course will run for 5 consecutive days, and you must be available to attend each day.
Once the course is complete and you pass successfully, your position as a Lifeguard will make you an important part of life here at the centre. You will ensure that everyone can use the pool safely and access everything they need to enjoy their visit.
Without you, there can’t be any pool activity. You won’t be working alone; our leisure centre has a close-knit and supportive team, all working towards providing an inclusive leisure hub for the entire community. You will also receive excellent training and development opportunities, along with benefits such as free leisure access and various discounts.
Serco manages these facilities on behalf of the Trust.
What you'll need to do the role
You’ll need excellent customer service skills, as you’ll be interacting heavily with our customers. Whether you’ve gained this experience in leisure or another customer-facing environment, you’ll be a people person who is comfortable dealing with people of all ages and backgrounds.
Your responsibilities include providing customer care to people of all ages, supervising activities, maintaining high standards of cleanliness in the pool area, and ensuring the safe handling and setup of pool equipment. When needed, you’ll also help to save lives.
As a lifeguard, you’ll need to be safety-conscious, vigilant, and capable of handling pressurized situations. Strong swimming skills are also essential.
