We Build Recruitment are currently seeking an experienced SSEN Commissioning Engineer to support major electrical infrastructure projects across multiple sites along the M4 Corridor. This is a high-value contract opportunity offering excellent day rates and long-term work on nationally significant power network projects.This role is ideal for a driven and technically strong commissioning professional with proven SSEN or DNO experience, looking to work on complex and critical power network upgrades.SSEN Commissioning Engineer M4 Corridor (Multiple Sites)Day Rate: £1,000 £1,200 (CIS or LTD)Start Date: March 2026Role OverviewAs an SSEN Commissioning Engineer, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient commissioning of electrical assets, ensuring all work complies with SSEN standards, industry regulations, and project specifications. You will work closely with project managers, site teams, and network operators to deliver commissioning activities on time and to the highest safety and quality standards.Key ResponsibilitiesCarry out commissioning and testing of HV and LV electrical systems in line with SSEN proceduresPerform protection relay testing, switchgear commissioning, and functional testingPrepare commissioning plans, test documentation, and completion reportsEnsure all commissioning activities comply with safety rules and operational proceduresLiaise with site supervisors, project managers, and control rooms during energisation activitiesIdentify and resolve technical faults and commissioning issuesSupport outage planning and network integration activitiesMaintain accurate records and certification documentationAdhere strictly to health & safety standards and site-specific regulationsParticipate in commissioning handover and final acceptance processesEssential RequirementsProven experience working as a Commissioning Engineer on SSEN or UK DNO projectsStrong knowledge of HV electrical systems and commissioning proceduresAuthorisations with SSEN (or similar DNO authorisations) preferredExcellent understanding of electrical safety rules and network operationsAbility to read and interpret electrical drawings and schematicsECS/CSCS card (or equivalent)Full UK driving licenceStrong communication and problem-solving skillsAbility to work across multiple project sites along the M4 CorridorIf you are interested in the role, Please apply!!!!
