Job Title: Customer Service Agent

Location: Walsall

Salary: £26,000

Job Purpose

The Customer Service Agent will be the first point of contact for customers, handling inbound and outbound calls, responding to queries, and providing excellent service at all times. This role also requires strong administrative skills to support the wider team with accurate record-keeping, data entry, and general office tasks.

Key Responsibilities

* Handle inbound and outbound customer calls in a professional and friendly manner.
* Respond to customer queries promptly, ensuring issues are resolved effectively.
* Accurately log all customer interactions and maintain up-to-date records.
* Provide information on products, services, and policies.
* Escalate complex issues to the appropriate department or manager when necessary.
* Perform administrative tasks such as data entry, filing, and updating customer records.
* Process customer requests and ensure documentation is completed correctly.
* Support the team with reporting, correspondence, and other clerical duties as required.
* Maintain a positive and professional attitude to deliver excellent customer experiences.
* Adhere to company policies, procedures, and compliance requirements.

Key Skills & Attributes

* Need to negotiation skills and handling of rejection
* Previous experience in a customer service role, ideally phone-based.
* Strong administrative and organisational skills.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
* Confident handling customer queries with patience and professionalism.
* Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and comfortable using CRM systems.
* Ability to work well under pressure and manage time effectively.
* Strong problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
* Team player with a proactive and flexible approach.

Qualifications & Experience

* Minimum of 1–2 years’ experience in a customer service role.
* Previous administrative experience is essential.
* Experience using customer databases or CRM systems (desirable).
