About The Role

We currently have an opening for an outstanding candidate to join the Department of Economics as a Teaching Fellow specialising in any area of Economics.

We offer an extensive range of exciting modules and candidates should be committed to the development and delivery of outstanding teaching, and have the enthusiasm and drive to contribute to the enhancement of the student experience.

This role is a fixed-term contract for one year in the first instance.

About You

Applicants should share our passion for teaching and have the ability to motivate and inspire Warwick learners and be research active. A PhD or equivalent experience in Economics or a related discipline is essential.

For further information regarding the skills required for this role please see the personal specification section of the attached job description.

If you are near submission or have recently submitted your PhD but have not yet had it conferred, any offers of employment will be made as Research Assistant at the top of level 5 of the University grade structure. Upon receipt of evidence of the successful award of your PhD, you will be promoted to Research Fellow on the first point of level 6 of the University grade structure.

You will be asked to attach a CV and a cover letter.

* Your CV should include your most recent employment experience, any other relevant experience, and education history.
* Your cover letter must detail how you meet each of the essential criteria found in the Job Description document below (and the desirable criteria too, where possible). It must also include a draft of a research paper in progress.

The application form only includes two slots for attaching documents, so please include the research paper draft as further pages on your cover letter document (and not as a standalone attachment).

If selected for interview, you will be asked to prepare two short presentations:

* The first presentation should consist of a lecture style delivery on a topic within a core intermediate undergraduate module in one of the following three areas: Macroeconomics, Microeconomics, or Econometrics.
* The second presentation should be either (i) based around a question from a problem set within a core intermediate undergraduate module in either Macroeconomics, Microeconomics, or Econometrics (for this second presentation you should choose a different area from that chosen for the first presentation, or (ii) a brief description of a research project you are currently pursuing.

Please be careful to avoid or minimise overlap between the two presentations.

* Interview Date: w/c 7 July 2025
* Start Date: 01 September 2025
