There is a strong focus on analytical and problem-solving abilities, with all our placements requiring these 2 key attributes as well as the ability to communicate with internal teams and other partner organisations. Many of the students that join us often return to join our Graduate Programme as a direct entrant once they compete their degree. So, what kind of experience can we offer you? Resources Placement Student We are looking for someone who is passionate about delivering excellent customer service to our passengers and internal partners. This exciting opportunity is based within the Resources Team, Birmingham. You will join our team providing the highest standards of resourcing. You will be responsible for delivering roster support with assisting with our system updates regarding admin information as required; creating reports as necessary and assisting existing team with rosters creation. You should be enthusiastic, a good communicator with strong organisational skills, confident with IT and have an eye for detail. Usual hours of duty are 08.00 to 16.00 with lunch break Monday to Friday, with occasional weekend work as required. The training on required systems and tasks to complete will be provided. To participate in the Safety Audit program me and remain aware of developing trends regarding safety issues, identifying opportunities for improvement to Cross Country Trains Ltd. systems and approaches To ensure compliance with all Cross Country Train Crew Conditions of service related to releases and detachments of crews Gain/ maintain a working knowledge of Train Crew Conditions of service and local agreements To deploy support to other members of the team, relieving workload where necessary to maintain operations and to keep all members of the team informed of the overall service situation Management of leave applications and mutual exchanges and their records Management of staff unavailability and records Management of banked RDs and their records Maintain personal details records for Train Crew in Manpower Planning for Train Crews and Rosters in Crewplan Book additional taxis/hotels as required Management of staff addresses and contact databases Support incident investigations as required Production of daily and weekly status reports and other reports as required Provide internal customers with monthly status of outstanding train crew annual leave Provide HR admin with advance individual train crew rosters for medicals, health & safety planning, local & Company Council representation planning Create and distribute job cards and schedule cards as required Contribute to a culture of continuous improvement by identifying and implementing improvements to Resources processes and systems.
