Job Description
Global Endpoint Operations manage the Endpoint Systems that connect Visa’s clients globally to all core systems and services at Visa Data Centers. The team is responsible for all technical support, change execution, problem and incident management. The administrator ensures high availability, drives better systems monitoring and performance investigations, and works with partners, vendors, and development teams to improve availability and reduce service impacts.
Essential Functions
* Provide technical advice and support to Visa’s client institutions and processors to ensure customers’ expectations are exceeded.
* Maintain discipline in detailed documentation and reporting of issues and changes, and timely updating of Global Inventory records.
* Create and test implementation Linux scripts for vendor’s field engineers and the support team for installation and activation.
* Perform remote system installation with on‑site vendor engineer support, configuration and lockdown of Visa endpoint servers.
* Proactively work with global support groups and client or vendor teams to provide flexible and nimble solutions for client issues and resolve system problems quickly.
* Timely escalation of critical situations and any project risk that can impact delivery to manager and 3rd‑level support team.
* Ensure all server deployments follow Visa security guidelines and report any non‑compliance.
* Communicate and work cordially in a global team across cultures and time zones.
* Work closely with IMAC and project team to ensure best‑in‑class delivery of solutions and support to Visa client.
* Ensure all incidents and changes comply with ITIL and operation policy.
* Ensure all servers going into production are locked down and meet operational acceptance criteria.
* Diagnose problems quickly and efficiently by running and reviewing application and network traces.
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications:
* Bachelor’s degree, OR 3+ years of relevant work experience.
* Experience with Linux.
Preferred Qualifications
* 1 year experience in Linux system administration or certifications on Linux system.
* Working experience in IT operations and project delivery.
* Ability to perform problem isolation and resolution of critical systems to reduce impact and downtime.
* Outstanding customer service skills and dedication to the customer service experience.
* Result‑oriented and constantly looking for new ways to improve efficiency and productivity.
* Project coordination and planning experience.
* Ability to make independent judgments with minimal supervision.
* Ability to assess and analyze technical situations and provide viable alternatives.
* Self‑starter who picks up new skills and knowledge.
* Basic programming and scripting knowledge in Bash, Python or Perl.
* Keen interest in learning new skills and technologies through online resources.
* Comfortable working on a 10‑12 hour shift schedule.
