Job Description: Education Placement Coordinator Location: 18-36 Wellington Street, Woolwich London, SE18 6PF Reports to: Placement Coordinator Role Type: Full-time, Permanent Role Purpose The Placement Coordinator is responsible for bridging the gap between our trainees and the classroom. Your primary objective is to secure high-quality work experience placements for SCCD learners by building and maintaining robust relationships with schools. You will act as a career coach for our learners and a recruitment partner for schools, ensuring a seamless match that often leads to permanent employment. Key Responsibilities 1. School Acquisition & Relationship Management Outbound Business Development: Conduct high-volume cold calling and strategic emailing to both new and existing schools to "sell" the benefits of hosting an SCCD trainee. SLA Conversion: Explain the SCCD model to Headteachers and Business Managers, securing Service Level Agreements (SLAs) for student placements. Database Growth: Proactively research and identify new schools, multi-academy trusts (MATs), and nurseries to expand our placement network. Account Management: Maintain regular contact with "host schools" to ensure they are satisfied with their current trainees and to anticipate future staffing needs. 2. Learner Advocacy & Profile Building Candidate Profiling: Work 1-on-1 with learners to translate their background and SCCD training into professional "Candidate Profiles" that appeal to school hiring managers. Interview Coaching: Conduct mock interviews and briefing sessions with learners to ensure they are prepared for school meetings and classroom trials. Expectation Management: Act as the primary point of contact for learner inquiries regarding their placement journey, providing realistic timelines and professional advice. 3. Compliance & Administration Vetting Coordination: Ensure all learners are "school-ready" with completed DBS checks and necessary compliance documentation before they step foot on site. Tracking & Reporting: Maintain accurate records of all school interactions and placement statuses within the CRM. Feedback Loops: Collect and document feedback from schools following placement trials to help learners improve and to identify potential "hire" opportunities Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) Placement Volume: Number of learners successfully placed in schools per month. Activity Levels: Daily targets for outbound calls and new school outreach. Conversion Rate: The percentage of placements that lead to a permanent job offer for the learner. Requirements What We’re Looking For The "Recruiter" Mindset: You aren't afraid of the phone. You understand that "No" from a school receptionist is just a starting point. Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written skills; you must be able to write persuasive emails to busy Headteachers and speak with authority. Empathy & Patience: You will be dealing with learners who may be nervous or transitioning careers; you need to be a supportive but firm mentor. Organization: The ability to juggle 30 active learner journeys while simultaneously cold-calling new schools.
