With significant growth over the last few years and strong presence all-over the globe, this company can offer excellent career prospects and opportunities to the right candidate The Cables Technician/Wire Technician will be responsible carrying out and maintaining a consistent throughput of cable repairs on both power and data cables. Duties and Responsibilities for the Cable Repair Technician: To identify and safely fault find issues on a range of electrical and data cables including single and three phase cabling, DMX and Ethercon. Undertaking electrical and mechanical repairs on a variety of cabling in a safe and professional manner. Termination of cut down cables to reinstate into rental stock. Wiring, soldering, cable stripping, assembly and termination of a range of connections both for power cables and data cables. Creating Wiring Looms To research parts and equipment required to effect repairs on cabling you have assessed. Preparing equipment to be sent to external suppliers for repair Broad testing of completed repairs (including PAT) before managing the return to stock. Work with the Repairs Inventory Technician to ensure stock repair supplies are maintained at appropriate levels. Written documentation of measures taken to complete repairs and providing advice to repairs administrator if pricing is not accurate in relation to work undertaken. Experience/Skills required Prior cable/electrical repairs experience including 3 phase IT literate with a good understanding of Microsoft Word and Excel. Must be able to confidently communicate with internal colleagues and external suppliers. Be able to build strong working relationships with colleagues. Self-motivated and organised with the ability to plan workload and keep track of multiple jobs.
