Job Title: Behaviour Support/Mentor
Location: Wakefield (WF4)
Pay rate: £460 - £600 per week (Depending on experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract type -Day-to-day/ Long-term, Full-time/ Part-time

Do you enjoy supporting young people and helping them develop positive behaviour, confidence, and resilience?

GSL Education are seeking a dedicated Behaviour Support/Mentor to work with schools in Wakefield (WF4), providing guidance and support to students who require additional help to manage behaviour and engage successfully in learning.

As a Behaviour Support/Mentor, you will work closely with teaching and pastoral staff to deliver one-to-one or small group support, helping students build self-regulation skills, improve focus, and develop positive strategies to succeed both academically and personally.

Main Responsibilities:

* Provide targeted one-to-one or small group support for students with behavioural or emotional needs.
* Encourage positive behaviour and support students in developing self-management strategies.
* Assist teachers in maintaining a calm, focused, and safe classroom environment.
* Build positive relationships with students to promote engagement and wellbeing.
* Monitor student progress and report any concerns or improvements to staff
* Work collaboratively with colleagues to support student development and school initiatives.

Requirements of Behaviour Support/Mentor:

* Previous experience working with young people, particularly those with behavioural or SEMH needs, is desirable.
* Strong behaviour management and communication skills.
* A patient, resilient, and supportive approach.
* Ability to motivate and build positive relationships with students.
* A commitment to safeguarding and promoting student welfare.
* An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply).
