Connect it Utility Services (CIUS) is a leading provider of multi-utility solutions across the UK, delivering a wide variety of infrastructure contracts, connections for new build housing developments, electrical network frameworks, electric vehicle charging hubs, and streetlighting works. We’re looking for a proactive Warehouse Operative to join the team in Hedge End, Southampton. You’ll play a vital role in supplying materials and equipment to our operational teams working on multiple sites across the South of England, delivering essential services efficiently and safely.
Responsibilities
* Goods in receives numerous deliveries every day from small packages to large drums of cable; record and store everything accurately and safely.
* Verify deliveries are correct and undamaged; take swift action to resolve any issues.
* Correctly pick items from over 4,000 products, on time and ready for site operatives.
* Run stock counts and place new orders in time for upcoming jobs (manage minimum and maximum values).
* Keep warehouse system updated with the latest storage information.
* Ensure delivery vehicles are loaded and ready to go, including drum trailers with cable.
* Assist as a Service Driver for smaller collections and deliveries to local sites (may include towing trailers).
* Maintain yard safety, ensure areas are tidy and free of obstructions, and check equipment (drum trailers, winches) back in.
* Maintain a clean, well-organised workspace at all times.
Qualifications
* Must have previous warehouse experience handling a variety of items including large-scale materials (e.g., cable drums, streetlights, pipework).
* Physically demanding, fast-paced role with priorities changing based on business needs.
* Customer-focused with strong attention to detail.
* Basic IT skills and comfortable using handheld tablets during picking.
* Experience and certification to operate a forklift is advantageous but not essential.
* Can-do attitude and willingness to learn; good organisational and planning skills.
Additional details
* Monday to Friday, 6am - 2pm and 9am - 5pm shifts on weekly rotation.
* A 37.5 hour working week, plus a half-hour paid lunch break.
* Full UK driving licence.
