Role details include collaboration with product managers, developers, data scientists, and other stakeholders to design the next generation of public safety applications, with a human-centered, design-led approach. The position is primarily remote with occasional in-person requirements in Glasgow and other UK Motorola development sites.
Responsibilities
* Translate customer insights into innovative designs that elevate public safety applications.
* Optimize design processes, establish best practices, and ensure exceptional design quality.
* Advocate for design excellence and evolve the UX culture within the organization.
* Build strong partnerships across Product, Engineering, and Research teams to ensure alignment and success.
* Adapt to rapidly shifting priorities and contribute to an agile, fast-paced innovation environment.
* Champion a user-centered approach in the development and application of AI technologies.
* Leverage industry best practices and tools to create wireframes, flows, visuals, and prototypes to communicate design intent to stakeholders.
* Identify opportunities to leverage AI (ML, NLP, generative AI) to solve user problems and create novel, delightful experiences.
* Collaborate with researchers, product managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to translate AI capabilities into tangible user benefits and design requirements.
* Design and research user interactions with AI-powered features and systems, ensuring they are intuitive, transparent, and trustworthy.
* Contribute to the development of best practices, ethical guidelines, and design patterns for Human-AI interaction within the organization.
* Stay abreast of the latest advancements in AI and their potential applications in experience design and research.
* Effectively communicate research findings, design concepts, and AI possibilities to diverse audiences.
Basic Requirements
* Bachelor\'s or Master\'s degree in HCI, Design, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
* 5+ years proven experience in Design (UX, CX, Interaction Design, Product Design).
* Portfolio showcasing exceptional UX design for apps and services; highlight any projects or thinking related to AI.
* Design software fluency with a strong preference for Figma; demonstrable experience with design/prototyping/whiteboarding tools.
* AI literacy: understanding of core AI concepts (ML, NLP, Generative AI), capabilities, limitations, and ethical considerations.
* Problem-solving: strong analytical and critical thinking to identify user needs and frame them as design or research challenges.
* User-centric mindset and ability to advocate for users.
* Collaboration and communication: ability to work in multidisciplinary teams and articulate ideas clearly.
* Adaptability and willingness to learn new technologies/methodologies in the AI space.
* Security clearance requirement: ability to attain SC and NPPV3 clearances.
