What Happens in Shipping and Receiving Anyway?
* Interact with donors to accept and process donations at trailer sites in an outdoor setting; provide outstanding service to all donors
* Receive newly donated items from our Donations team
* Help us be green and sustainable, sort and ship recyclable items
* Lift up to 50 lbs.
* Work in the heat, the cold and in wet weather conditions
* Unload trailers in a safe and efficient manner

Position Title: Distribution Shipping/Receiving Team Member
Department: Donations
Reports to: On-Site Manager
Position Purpose and Objectives
We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Distribution Shipping/Receiving Team Member to join our Distribution Center team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the efficient and accurate material handling of shipping and receiving tasks, including the receipt, inspection, and documentation of incoming and outgoing shipments. This role is critical to maintaining the flow of goods and ensuring that our customers receive their orders on time and in excellent condition.
Roles and Responsibilities
Unload incoming shipments from trucks and trailers.
Inspect and verify incoming goods against purchase orders, packing lists, and inspect clothes and other items.
Pick, pack, and prepare orders for shipment according to customer specifications.
Label and process shipments using appropriate shipping software.
Coordinate with shipping carriers to ensure timely and accurate dispatch of orders.
Organize and maintain inventory within the warehouse, performing regular counts and audits.
Assist with inventory management tasks, such as stock rotation and replenishment.
Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures.
Maintain a clean and organized work environment, keeping work areas neat and clean.
Comply with company policies and regulatory requirements.
Operate warehouse equipment, including forklifts, pallet jacks, and hand trucks, safely and efficiently.
Conduct routine maintenance and inspections on equipment.
Consolidate goods and operate baling equipment.
Identify and sort materials into different categories.
Adapt to changing priorities throughout the day as production adjusts.
Prep and organize products for shipping, packaging finished products accordingly.
Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Skills and Qualifications
High School Degree or GED preferred, or equivalent work experience.
Prior experience in warehouse, distribution, or shipping/receiving roles is preferred.
Operation of warehouse equipment; forklift certification is a plus.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Basic computer skills, familiarity with shipping software.
Effective communication and teamwork abilities.
Ability to lift and move heavy objects regularly.
Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays.
Strong work ethic and adherence to company policies and procedures.
Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks.
Capability to build and maintain relationships with peers, management, and customers.
Accurate record-keeping and progress communication to management.
Proven ability to manage multiple activities simultaneously.

Physical Demands:
Frequently - Carrying up to 50 lbs., pushing and pulling up to 25 lbs., lifting up to 50 lbs., climbing up to 14-foot height, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, handling and smelling.
Frequently - Walking on tile/concrete, bending, feeling, and reaching waist/overhead level.
Continuously - Standing on tile/concrete, talking, seeing, and hearing.
Other:
Mostly regular and weekend hours, occasionally working evenings and holiday hours as needed.
Working environment includes inside of building with semi- controlled temperatures and outside conditions with varying weather and temperatures.
