Location: London, Cheltenham or Ipswich. Onsite (5 days office based). Monday‑Friday 9am‑5pm. DV Security Clearance is required. Must have lived in UK for 10+ years to obtain clearance.
Due to the sensitive nature of this role, you may be required to undergo DV (Developed Vetting) level Security Clearance. An allowance of £5k per annum may be payable monthly while you hold this DV and continue to work in a role that requires that level of security clearance. The terms of this allowance will be made available if you are successful in being recruited into this role.

The Cloud Engineering Specialist independently implements core infrastructure and security services in Amazon Web Services to deliver highly available and scalable services, automating time‑intensive processes while meeting security and compliance objectives in all aspects of the secure cloud ecosystem.
What You’ll Be Doing
* Be hands on in the build and development of world‑class secure cloud‑based solutions as part of an agile delivery team.
* Lead the design of cloud solutions.
* Work directly with our customers to understand their requirements.
* Work with support teams to enable management and monitoring of cloud‑based systems, and their ongoing support.
* Provide some third‑line support to deployed cloud‑based solutions.
* Line‑manage several more junior members of the team, assisting them in their professional development.

You’ll definitely
* Have experience utilising AWS cloud services, both compute and appropriate managed services.
* Have expertise in developing for cloud, with experience in iterative full‑stack development in appropriate languages (for example Node.js or Python).
* Have experience delivering Kubernetes or AWS EKS solutions.
* Have experience managing infrastructure‑as‑code, for example using Terraform or AWS CloudFormation.
* Have experience managing or mentoring more junior colleagues.
You might even
* Have some experience with CI/CD pipelines, and tools such as Jenkins.
* Have experience automating specific management and maintenance activities, to support BAU tasks in complex systems environments (e.g. new cloud account creation, bulk user management, environment housekeeping, monitoring and compliance).
* Have familiarity with micro‑service and container‑based deployment strategies, and a zero‑trust authorisation model.
* Some experience in the migration of on‑prem solution to AWS.
* Have experience with other cloud platforms such as Azure and GCP.
