HR System Officer
We are looking for an analytical and proactive professional to join our HR team as an HR System Officer. In this role, you will help ensure our HR and Payroll system, iTrent, operates smoothly and continues to improve for all users.
Responsibilities
Manage user access and permissions, ensuring colleagues have the right level of access. Act as the first point of contact for system queries, resolving a range of issues from straightforward questions to complex challenges, and working with our external partner, MHR, when needed. Assess and manage the impact of monthly system upgrades and new releases, including testing new features for successful implementation. Maintain accurate data, support audits, and perform regular housekeeping tasks to keep the system running efficiently.
Advise colleagues on how to make the most of the system’s functionality and support improvements to HR processes, especially in areas such as working patterns, absence management, and annual leave. Deliver training and communicate technical information in a clear, approachable way.
Qualifications
Practical experience using HR payroll and information systems, strong IT skills, and a careful, detail‑oriented approach. Confidence in managing and configuring systems, delivering training, and explaining technical matters simply. Collaboration across teams and understanding of data protection and audit requirements are essential.

Hybrid working arrangements are available. The contractual location will be the designated council office for your team.
