The Company
We're working with a nationally recognised logistics and supply chain brand, currently on a major growth and transformation journey. Due to internal realignment and increasing complexity, a new position has been created for a Head of Employee Relations to lead ER across the organisation, supporting over 9,000 employees across 60 UK sites - with a strong presence in the Midlands/Northamptonshire.
This is a high-impact, high-autonomy role that will suit a seasoned ER leader who's seen it all - from ACAS and tribunals to union negotiations and policy overhaul.
What will you be responsible for?
* Acting as a trusted advisor to Human Resources and Personnel and operational leaders on complex ER issues
* Managing end-to-end ER casework: investigations, disputes, outcomes and appeals
* Handling all ACAS conciliation's and tribunal claims, working with Group Legal
* Reviewing and maintaining ER policy, templates, documentation and best practice
* Supporting union negotiations and industrial relations planning
* Leading ER aspects of change management programmes (e.g. restructures/TUPE)
* Collaborating with other ER Heads to ensure Group-wide consistency
* Supporting upskilling of line managers and HR teams in ER capability
* Driving a culture of continuous improvement and proactive risk reduction
What do we need from you?
We're looking for someone experienced, resilient and fair - with the confidence to challenge constructively and the skill to influence across all levels.
Key requirements include:
* Strong knowledge of UK employment law and Employee Relations confident with supporting everything up to tribunal
* Extensive ER leadership experience in logistics, manufacturing or industrial sectors - ideally at Head of Employee Relations level
* Proven record managing high-volume, high-risk ER cases
* Understanding of data and systems to track ER metrics
* Strong negotiation and conflict resolution skills
