Social Worker – Foster Carer Support Team

Up to £36 per hour
The London Borough of Barnet is looking for a skilled practitioner to join our Foster Carer Support Team. While listed under Fostering, your primary focus will be providing high-quality supervision and support to our carers. We need someone who works creatively to ensure our families feel empowered and resilient.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide robust supervision to a caseload with a significant focus on Kinship Care.
* Ensure all practice is strictly in line with the Fostering Regulations.
* Apply flexible and innovative approaches to meet the unique emotional needs of Kinship Carers.
* Facilitate support groups and contribute to the delivery of training programs.
* Work collaboratively with children’s social workers to ensure placement stability.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you must demonstrate:
* An excellent understanding of Fostering Regulations and Kinship Care legal frameworks.
* Prior experience specifically within a Fostering or Kinship team.
* Experience facilitating training sessions or support groups (highly preferred).
* Social Work England (SWE) registration and a degree in Social Work.
* Exceptional report-writing skills and the ability to build rapport with diverse families.
