With several new projects commencing in the West of Scotland, we are looking to expand our team and are currently recruiting for a Quantity Surveyor to join us.
The Role
We are seeking a Quantity Surveyor to manage the commercial and contractual aspects of these projects. In this role, you will ensure financial efficiency, compliance, and profitability while maintaining strong relationships with clients and stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
* Oversee cost management, including preparing and maintaining applications for payment and final accounts.
* Review and analyse contract documentation, ensuring compliance with legal and company standards.
* Procure and manage subcontractors, handling negotiations, on-site management, and final accounts.
* Provide commercial and contractual support to Directors, Contracts Managers, and Project Managers.
* Prepare accurate internal cost reports and forecasts.
* Identify and prepare claims to secure contractual entitlements.
* Participate in construction programme development and manage commercial correspondence.
* Represent the company professionally in meetings, promoting positive relationships with clients and stakeholders.
* Ensure compliance with the company’s SHEQ Management Manual and quality procedures.
Skills & Qualifications
Essential:
* Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field.
* Good understanding of construction contracts (e.g., NEC, JCT).
* Excellent negotiation, analytical, and communication skills.
* Proven ability to manage multiple projects and meet tight deadlines.
* Proficiency in financial forecasting and cost control.
Desirable:
* Membership in a relevant professional body (e.g., RICS or CIOB).
* Evidence of continuing professional development
