As a Talent Acquisition Consultant, you ll play a key role in attracting, hiring and retaining high-quality talent across a designated business area. You ll partner closely with hiring managers, provide expert recruitment support, and ensure a seamless, candidate-centric experience throughout the hiring lifecycle.
Role Responsibilities
* Build strong relationships with hiring managers, acting as their first point of contact for recruitment needs
* Conduct discovery calls to understand new vacancies and create compelling, optimised job adverts
* Post roles across job boards and social channels to attract diverse talent
* Proactively source candidates using job boards, social media and smart sourcing techniques
* Screen applicants against agreed criteria and coordinate interviews within agreed timeframes
* Deliver excellent customer service to both hiring managers and candidates
* Manage the offer and compliance process, ensuring consistency and timely completion
* Maintain accurate recruitment administration using Workday ATS
* Analyse recruitment data, including time-to-hire and key KPIs
* Support the wider TA team to ensure a smooth, efficient recruitment process
* Promote Mears as an employer of choice and uphold a One Mears approach
* Work collaboratively with the wider HR function to deliver a joined-up service
* Attend careers fairs, recruitment events and community engagement activities to promote opportunities at Mears Group
* Visit branches nationwide to support hiring managers face-to-face and gain a deeper understanding of local recruitment needs
* Be prepared to travel across the UK as required
Role Criteria
* Previous recruitment experience (in-house or agency)
* Friendly and approachable, with the ability to build positive relationships
* Confident using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams)
* High attention to detail, with a focus on quality and accuracy
* Proactive, with the confidence to use initiative and take ownership of tasks
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills
* Ability to work under pressure, manage multiple tasks and meet tight deadlines
* Resilient, adaptable and confident making independent decisions
* Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
* Experience with ATS systems (Workday desirable)
* Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle (desirable)
