We are seeking to recruit an Assistant Risk Manager in Preston.
The responsibilities of the Assistant Risk Manager include:
* Supporting the setup of processes and protocols for risk management.
* Supporting controls and contingency planning.
* Liaising with design teams, contractors, and client representatives as risk owners.
* Maintaining risk registers or management systems based on project complexity.
* Producing risk reports and providing risk advice.
* Collaborating to identify, manage, and allocate risks at project and program levels.
* Tracking risk management and ensuring compliance with industry and client standards.
* Auditing and reviewing client processes and procedures.
* Performing duties in accordance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
Key Attributes:
* Ability to work independently.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
* Positive and engaging attitude towards challenging situations.
* Willingness to work within a client organization if required.
* Experience in the construction industry.
* Technical knowledge of highways/civil engineering.
* Background in Quantity Surveying or Civil Engineering.
* Knowledge of NEC Contracts.
* Experience leading teams and managing deliverables.
Qualifications & Skills:
* Degree in construction, cost management, engineering, or RICS-accredited field.
* Progressing towards MRICS or equivalent qualification.
* Experience maintaining risk registers and evaluating risks/opportunities.
* Supporting and leading risk and value workshops.
* Excellent communication skills.
* Familiarity with risk management software and tools.
* Numerical and analytical skills.
