You’ve delivered results in high-volume, fast-paced food manufacturing environments. You’ve led from the front, empowering teams, hitting targets and setting the pace. Now, you’re looking for a challenge with broader scope and real impact.

We’re on the search for a General Manager to take full responsibility for a complex, fresh produce facility in Cambridgeshire. You’ll take charge of a 130-person site, directly leading production, engineering, supply chain and health & safety.
Your mission? You will be given full autonomy to drive cultural transformation by engaging your shift managers, aligning performance and building accountability across site. With your first challenge being to lead a “back to basics” reset, restoring consistency and performance discipline after a period of change.

The business is stable, profitable and ambitious, with multiple tenders in play and potential UK-wide expansion meaning genuine opportunities for you, ranging from future multi-site responsibility to a clear path to MD-level progression based entirely on performance.
The Operation at a Glance
This private, family owned and growing food manufacturer operates a complex, 24/7 operation in their fresh produce facility processing over 60,000 tonnes of produce annually. With 2 wash lines and 12 packing lines for both organic and conventional SKUs.
The site turns over £65m annually and supplies major UK retailers with the finest quality produce. They have a flat structure, a people-focused ethos and an appetite for innovation and growth.
With the future expansion on the horizon, this is a business offering stability with clear ambition.
What You’ll Bring
To succeed, you'll already be operating at an Operations Manager level or above within food manufacturing. High-volume, short shelf-life environments is highly advantageous.
You'll need strong leadership credentials, a clear grasp of performance management, labour planning, cost control and the ability to influence and drive change across a diverse, multi-shift team.
Ultimately, this role demands someone calm under pressure, clear in communication and genuinely team-orientated in leadership style.
