Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Assistant to join our team in providing exceptional care to residents in our residential care home. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in senior care, including experience with dementia and Alzheimer's care, and will be committed to enhancing the quality of life for our residents. This role involves working closely with management to implement care plans and ensure the highest standards of care are maintained.
Responsibilities
* Assist in the daily living of residents, including personal hygiene, dressing, and mobility support.
* Collaborate with care staff to administer medication as prescribed and monitor residents' health conditions.
* Develop and implement individualised care plans tailored to each resident's needs.
* Provide emotional support and companionship to residents, fostering a warm and welcoming environment.
* Supervise junior staff members and assist in their training as needed, demonstrating effective leadership skills.
* Maintain accurate records of residents' progress and any changes in their condition.
* Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations within the care home setting.
* Participate in team meetings to discuss resident care strategies and improvements.
Requirements
* Previous experience in care homes, or similar senior care environments is essential.
* Knowledge of dementia and Alzheimer's care practices is highly desirable.
* Strong understanding of medication administration protocols and care plan development.
* Demonstrated management skills with experience supervising staff preferred.
* Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with a compassionate approach to resident interaction.
* Ability to work effectively as part of a team while also being able to take initiative when required.
