Role Purpose: To operate, monitor, and maintain production CNC machinery to ensure efficient manufacturing of precision components. The Machine Minder is responsible for maintaining machine performance, ensuring product quality, and supporting safe and continuous production operations. Key Responsibilities: Set up and operate production machinery according to job specifications and standard operating procedures. Monitor machine performance during operation and make necessary adjustments to maintain efficiency and product quality. Conduct routine checks and basic preventative maintenance on machines. Identify faults or irregularities and report issues to the appropriate supervisor or maintenance personnel. Ensure materials are correctly loaded and handled to maintain continuous production flow. Inspect finished components to ensure they meet required tolerances and quality standards. Maintain accurate production records and documentation where required. Keep work areas clean, organised, and compliant with health and safety standards. Follow all company policies, safety procedures, and relevant manufacturing regulations. Support team members and supervisors to meet production targets and deadlines. Working Conditions: Based in a manufacturing/engineering workshop environment. Involves standing for extended periods and handling machine components and materials. Requires the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) as specified by safety procedures. Skills and Competencies: Basic understanding of mechanical or manufacturing processes. Ability to monitor machinery and recognise operational issues. Attention to detail and commitment to quality standards. Good communication and teamwork skills. Ability to follow technical instructions and work procedures. Basic numeracy and record-keeping ability. Training and Development: On-the-job training provided for machine operation and maintenance. Supervision: Works under the guidance of a supervisor or production manager, with increasing responsibility as competence develops.
