Behaviour Mentor Location: York, North Yorkshire Contract: Full-Time, Term Time Only Start Date: ASAP Salary: £92 – £110 per day GSL Education are looking for a compassionate, proactive, and highly motivated Behaviour Mentor to join a supportive primary school setting in York. This is an exciting opportunity to support children with additional behavioural, social, and emotional needs, helping them engage positively in learning and school life. Behaviour Mentor Responsibilities: Provide one-to-one and group support for pupils with social, emotional, and behavioural needs. Implement behaviour strategies and personalised plans to encourage positive engagement. Support reintegration into classroom learning and build confidence, self-esteem, and resilience. Work closely with teachers, teaching assistants, and external agencies to ensure holistic support. Monitor progress, keep accurate records, and contribute to reports on pupil development. The Ideal Behaviour Mentor Will Have: Experience supporting children with behavioural, social, or emotional needs in schools or similar settings. Strong knowledge of behaviour management strategies and restorative approaches. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Patience, empathy, and the ability to remain calm under pressure. A proactive, solution-focused approach and ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
