About the Role
We have an exciting opportunity for a Deputy Manager to join our dynamic team. This permanent position would be well suited to an enthusiastic individual looking to advance their career in the care sector in a thriving and supportive environment. You will work closely with the Senior Management Team in all aspects of service leadership.
Roles & responsibilities
* Develop and maintain effective working relationships with the management and senior management of the service
* Liaise with the Registered Manager & Registered Provider ensuring all necessary reports are sent timeously
* Support the Registered Manager in upholding an open, positive and inclusive management culture
* To provide leadership to the administration, care, catering, housekeeping, laundry, maintenance and people management functions of the service
* To maintain the operations of the service at the standard agreed with the Registered Manager & Registered Provider, within the financial budget or other parameters set by the Provider
* Be responsible for promoting and safeguarding the welfare of residents of the service
* Recruitment of staff
* Induct new starters in accordance with Company policy
* Lead, motivate and direct staff
* Support the Registered Manager to conduct staff supervision and annual staff appraisals
* Develop staff to full potential
* Ensure multidisciplinary team working is embedded in the service
* Seek opportunities for personal and professional growth
Role specific requirements & personal qualities
* Enhanced DBS check
* Hold a Level 4 Diploma in Adult Care or equivalent or working towards
* Previous experience working in a supervisory role in a similar environment
* Ability to provide on call cover on a rota basis with the Registered Manager
* Proficient written skills
* Excellent communication skills
* Willingness to speak up when things go wrong
* A comprehensive understanding of person-centred care
* Ability & desire to strive for quality in everything we do, recognising and understanding what quality in care means for people using the service
* Being accepting about criticism and focusing on improvement
* Being open to new opportunities for learning and identifying the limits of skills and knowledge
