Engaging learners through vocational, skills-based education that builds confidence and employability
Creating a safe, well-organised workshop space that promotes learning through doing
Supporting students with SEMH (Social, Emotional & Mental Health) needs and adapting tasks to suit individual abilities
Encouraging teamwork, problem-solving, and resilience through practical work
Working closely with pastoral and behaviour staff to support student engagement and personal development
Contributing to a nurturing school culture focused on second chances and future pathways
We're Looking For Someone Who:
Has experience in construction (e.g., carpentry, brickwork, multi-trades) and ideally a teaching or training qualification (e.g., DTLLS, PTLLS, QTS/QTLS - but not essential)
Is confident delivering practical, hands-on sessions to students who may be disengaged or challenging
Is passionate about vocational learning and helping young people develop skills for life and work
Can remain calm, patient, and positive in a behaviourally complex setting
Has good communication skills and a sense of humour
Wants to be part of a small, supportive, and mission-driven team
What You'll Gain in Return:
A long-term role with the potential to become permanent
A meaningful opportunity to shape young lives through practical education
Weekly pay and support with further training or qualifications
Access to CPD including safeguarding, de-escalation, and trauma-informed teaching
A rewarding environment where no two days are the same-and your work truly matters
The chance to help students discover pride, purpose, and potential through skilled trades
