Field Service Engineer
Hourly rate: GBP 13.00 per hour
Based at: Wallasey Service Centre CH44 7HX, with a full UK driving licence
Full Time: Hours: 8:00 - 17:00, Monday to Friday
We are currently seeking Field Service Engineers to join our team at the Wallasey Service Centre. The role involves covering contracts in the Wirral, Wigan, Chester, Ellesmere Port, Liverpool, South Sefton, Southport, and Formby areas. We welcome applications from residents of these areas. As a healthcare equipment provider, Ross Care partners with the NHS to supply essential equipment and aids to support individuals in their daily lives.
Job Purpose
To enable the company to meet contractual service standards by completing initial training in the workshop to recondition wheelchair equipment, gaining essential product knowledge. After training, you will work in the field delivering, collecting, repairing, and servicing wheelchairs. The goal is to complete most jobs on a first-time fix basis.
Key Responsibilities
* Delivering and collecting wheelchairs from service users' homes and NHS departments, following infection control policies.
* Servicing and repairing wheelchairs in the field, aiming for first-time fixes.
* Completing all job paperwork accurately, including parts used and actions taken, to ensure data is correctly updated.
* Using PPE as instructed during duties.
* Taking out-of-hours responsibility when rostered, once fully trained.
* Adhering to all regulations regarding the use of company vehicles and health and safety laws.
* Maintaining a tidy vehicle and ensuring stock levels of parts are replenished daily.
* Performing weekly vehicle safety and van checks.
* Maintaining professionalism and discretion when dealing with service users and agencies, wearing a clean uniform and ID badge.
* Prioritising and organising workload, consulting with the Line Manager as needed.
* Maintaining tools and equipment as per company policies.
* Undertaking necessary training to keep skills up to date.
Qualifications
* Full UK driving licence
* Successful enhanced DBS check
* Basic workshop knowledge
* Electrical knowledge of 12V/24V DC systems
* Safe handling of loads and equipment
* Experience in face-to-face customer contact
* Previous delivery driving experience
* Understanding of disabilities
* Flexible approach to work conditions
* Initiative within role boundaries
* Ability to use mobile phones for relaying photographs
* Good communication skills, both written and verbal
* Ability to give clear instructions to clients
* Awareness of handheld scanners
